Thank you for your continued support!
Thank you to students, families, caregivers and community members! Learning is off to a great start. Friday, September 12th we kicked off our Dragon Zone awards and recognized seven students for being in the DRAGON ZONE! Congratulations to those students and to all students for modeling the school's values!
Two reminders regarding student drop offs:
Two reminders regarding student drop offs:
- There is no parking on 6th street, south of the crosswalk. We reserve this for quick drop-offs only. Almost everyone is complying with this request and we are grateful for your support!
- The back parking lot will be opening to ECFE families only. Early childhood students do not have bus transportation and we need to reserve these parking spots for those families dropping off and picking up. If you have an Early Childhood student, be sure to display your parking card in the window during drop-off and pick-up. Thank you for your cooperation.

Student Safety ~ Use front entrance, Supervision Times
A part of a positive educational experience is student safety. A reminder to parents: students arriving to school after the morning 8:00 a.m. whistle need to be dropped off in the front of the school as the only accessible door to get into the school is the front entrance. All students and visitors will need to be buzzed in for entry access.
We have noticed a number of students arriving before 7:45am, sometimes as early as 7:15. Student safety is one of our biggest concerns. We just want to give a gentle reminder that we have neither supervision nor crossing guards before 7:45am.

~Pine City Elementary is a Celebration Eligible School~
Minnesota Department of Education notified Mr. Arola of Pine City Elementary being named a Celebration Eligible School. There are 853 Title I schools in the state and Pine City Elementary is in the top 25% to be called a Celebration Eligible School. This designation places us just below the Reward Schools. The designation is based on our MMR results (Multiple Measurements Rating).
This award recognizes the accomplishments and hard work of Title I schools across the state. The purpose of the Celebration School recognition is to identify Minnesota Title I schools that have demonstrated both excellence on the MMR which recognizes student proficiency, student growth, closure of the achievement gap, as well as success with initiatives that have led to positive student outcomes.
We applied to become one of the schools in the top 10% of this group and were notified in December 2013 that we were not chosen to be in the top 10%.
We are proud of this recognition and the opportunity to apply for the top 10% of this group!
